What’s Involved In The Energy Audits Conducted by CPC?

 In Blog

To determine the efficiency of your electrical system, institution, or industry, start by submitting the previous 12 months’ worth of electric information to Continental Power for review.

The complete process involves a multi-prong approach consisting of:

  • An initial review of the actual utility invoices (plus alternative suppliers, if applicable)
  • Potentially contacting your utility company for additional information
  • Signing a 3rd party authorization form, if applicable
  • The collection of data from the utility company, if applicable
  • An analysis of all data and related information
  • Developing a proposal detailing potential savings, environmental benefits, or power quality upgrades

This methodology aims to determine the current situation before suggesting a process or system capable of reducing the amount of energy input into the system without negatively affecting the overall output.

Types of Electrical Energy Audits

There are two types of electrical energy audits:

1. The Preliminary Energy Audit

This type of electrical energy audit is a simple analysis of both the energy usage and the plant’s performance. It relies on existing data to formulate the results.

2. The Detailed Energy Audit

Once you’ve been approved for power conditioning and are interested in proceeding, CPC will conduct an on-site visit. We’ll review your electrical panels and various inductive loads, and then we’ll meet with your preferred electrical contractor to discuss installation details.

The specific type utilized relates directly to the industry or other business characteristics.

Electrical Energy Audits

An electrical energy audit is one way an organization can determine potential sectors for instituting energy conservation. It provides insight into where a company can realize monetary savings by reducing energy consumption. At Continental Power Corporation, we can guide you through the process.
